Unnecessary Ice Day
So, today I have a snow day, although there was no snow. We started our morning off with 1/10 an inch of ice coating the ground. However, the temperature raised to 50 degrees by 11:00, so it is all melted. The county that I work in just couldn't get all the back roads touched by our 2 hour delay window.

So, I got a snow day for this....

New Spring Product
Since I was stuck inside all day dreaming about weather warming up and mourning these 5 summer days that I've spent on snow days so far, I decided to make good use of my time and create a new product! I am dreaming of warmer weather, so I'll start on my Spring sets now! No more COLD!

New Year's Reading Resolution #1 going strong!!
My top resolution this year was to read at least 10 books this year. I've read 3 so far!
Just finished my 3rd book of the year!!

Mockingjay and Warm Bodies were my January reads.

I just finished...

Next up on the list...

As you can tell from my pleasure reads, I do a bit of light reading. I like simple reads that help my brain relax.

This Week's Pinspiration
The month of March my school is doing a Career/Seuss focus. We are focusing on careers, while also having fun with Seuss and 'Oh, the Place You Will Go', so one of the things we must do for the month is decorate our door!! There will be a door decorating contest. :-D I spent yesterday looking through ideas on what to do with my door and here are my top three ideas.

Dr Seuss door decoration for the library.Teachery Tidbits: Dr. Seuss Doors {Part 2}Cat in the Hat craftivity - using basic shapes
^^^^^^
I love the big Lorax face, but it doesn't involve students, really.
I love the idea of the pictures of them reading a book, so I'm somewhat leaning towards this.
This is just something fun that I'll just do anyways (not for my door).

#6 (shhh I'm sneaking it in
I'm Famous, Ya'll!
So my friend messaged me today and said "Dear Lord, you're in my NKU magazine." I have been teaching a Gifted and Talented program in the summer at NKU and today summer's ago, this picture was taken during one of my Around the World classes.

This shirt is awful, yes I know.
The picture is unflattering, yes I know.
Buuuut.... I'm permanently in NKU's College of Education magazine!

What I find the funniest about this is that ever since I became a seller on Teachers Pay Teachers, I've become extremely aware of using pictures, copyrights, and consents for pictures on the internet. This picture was news to me tonight. :-) I had no idea! If I would have known, I would've picked a more flattering picture. :-) Just kidding!!!

  1. I can't wait to read Let's Pretend This Never Happened! I also like mindless reading that doesn't take much thinking on my part.

  2. Okay, I am going to have to read at least one of the books you've read :) Of course, I'll have to catch up with you in productivity first. I LOVE the fact that you had a Snow Day that was really just a little cloudy. You have to love those backwoods, country roads :)

  3. Haha - love the rain day. Being from central Kentucky those come our way a lot. Are you from Kentucky, too?? Also, congrats on keeping up with your New Year's resolution! Good for you.
