Am I the only person in the world to go into Target looking for one thing and end up spending my entire paycheck?? I stopped by Target yesterday for two things and ended up spending over $100!
My only needs were a new purse (didn't even buy!) and pens for my class.
I did get my pens, which I regret promising them because decent pens are NOT cheap!
They have been nagging me about these pens, and I've made them wait a whole week for them, so I couldn't just buy them Bics! :-) The reason I needed to buy pens for them is because my students have earned yet another class prize. I had no idea they would go through these class prizes so quickly! When we start over at the beginning of our list, I will start making 300 points for each prize (because they are starting to act a little crazier than usual).
Here is our class point chart.
As you can tell, my kids have really zoomed through this list.
You can check this reward system out here.
Best thing is, I don't even have to keep up with it. I have a brilliant child in my classroom who works far beyond all my other students. She adds our daily points up, adds them to the running total, adds the tens/ones to the chart, and then subtracts our total from 200. We aren't introducing 2-digit addition until next week, so she has gotten a chance to work ahead while helping me out!!
And of course, while you're at Target, you HAVE to buy other things (especially from the Dollar Spot).
Check these cute bins outs for only $1...
I decided to use a few of them for school supplies. I haven't decided what else to do with them.
And my productive week has been great! Check out my new products I've made!

LOOOVVVEE Target dollar spot! :)

Those bins are awesome :) I love stuff like that...I have to go to Target tomorrow to do a return, so I will check out the Dollar Spot! What a great math project for a student to work on :)

ReplyDeleteI too love Target. I make frequent visits each week because it is "on the way home." Our is smaller, so our dollar spot is kind of wimpy compared to others I have seen. I like you reward system!

I LOVE those pens! I use the to grade papers. I also bought those same bins! Love the $1 deals at target! I really like your reward system. I'm thinking about implementing something similar next year.
ReplyDeleteTarget is amazing! I wonder if we have those bins now. I didn't see them last week, but they are adorable. We really should be Target sponsors.
ReplyDeleteI stopped by Target this afternoon, and they didn't have the bins. I'm hoping they will be coming soon!
